The upload speed is going to be directly correlated to quite a few things:
1. The strength of the connection you have to the website
2. The upload speed permitted on your server
3. The file size will be limited by wordpress and your server, not by VFBPro
4. If no file is being uploaded it is likely because your server is limiting the size of the upload OR your php process times are to low, and what is happening is that it is timing out before the upload finishes. You need to increase your php script times for sure, to allow for bigger uploads.
Overall all VFBPro does not control any of these issues, its all server, wordpress and connection related.
