When I drag a field onto the builder area, the name of the item shows up where it should in its usual box, but without any edit controls. It cannot be edited or moved. If I save the form, any item that was put on the builder with drag and drop is deleted.
However, just clicking on a field in the toolbox does properly place it in the builder area with all of the edit buttons, and the item does get saved properly.
